I need a vacuum that will deal with a moulting teenager and dog (both with black hair). Must have a stair attachment :)

Any suggestions?

Miele Cat and Dog. Fantastic. Smile

I love my Henry!

Second for Miele cat and dog - used to have two cats and it was brilliant. And it's still going strong ten years later too.

Vax are good but bloody noisy!

If you have a lot of ingrained hair in the carpet you could try using a squeegee car scraper first then vaccum to keep on top of it.

After years of rubbish dysons I'm in love with my sebo.

3 Persians, Bengal and a cocker spaniel.

Now the question is which Miele cat and dog (or in my case teenager and dog)? :)

Bought the Miele cat and dog when we moved into our new house, where previous owners had had two black dogs. I is fab - we have the 2000w non-upright version, very portable and light.

Miele Cat & Dog. Mine's still bearing up after five years, and approximately seven metric tonnes of dog hair - the only downside is the cost of the bags/filter.

But then if I had a Dyson and could see how much filth the dog was generating I think I'd lose the will to live altogether.

I've got a Morphy Richards 1800w cyclone. It copes with long dark hair and black cat hair effortlessly. It is noisy, but the stair attachment is going strong.

BTW mine is bag less so costs nothing to run and the canister is always stuffed full of hair etc.

CuddyMum · 16/05/2013 17:39

Will look into that one too!

I love my Dyson. It gets rid of all the dog hair (except what's on the dog, of course). Miele were too expensive for us!

Bought a Vax once. Never again. Useless piece of junk that said it was specially for pet hair yet barely picked up anything!

CuddyMum · 17/05/2013 07:09

I have a Dyson - I can't wait to get rid of it.

Oh hate my stain too. But it won't die! When it does I'm getting a miel but worried about buying bags all the time.

MyCatsRule · 17/05/2013 08:11

I had a Miele which was fine, but now have a dyson and I love it - I agree it gets every single last hair.
