Another question about new build reservation fees....

What happens after you've bought the house? Do they take it off the asking price? Or refund it? Or keep it.

They offset it against the price you are paying for the house when you exchange/complete... I'm sure this is the case

It's not an additional fee you pay, it's just more of a deposit. Otherwise they could reserve it for you and not market it and then you go elsewhere and they've lost valuable marketing time. So it proves to them you are definitely interested.

If you were to pull out of the purchase, then they would keep it.
