For the dc's bathroom. Want to replace carpet which has got rather manky, for obvious reasons, but with what? It's a fairly small room with shower, bath, toilet ...

Had amazing rubber tiles from Dalsouple in old house, but don't think you can get them any more.

Please share your ideas.

I think you can still get them.

Forbo floors do fab Marmoleum.

Selks · 11/05/2013 19:14

Marmoleum. Warm, made from natural materials and comes in gorgeous colours. I've got it in my bathroom and recommend it - here

Or the new generation cork flooring - again, natural, warm underfoot and gorgeous. I would consider this if I was doing my bathroom floor again - here

Poured resin floor looks great but not cheap. Am considering it for our bathrooms.

in our old flat we had pale wooden floorboards, clear varnished, then sprinkled with holographic glitter before clear varnishing again - it looked great! kids loved it too, & the way it caught the light as you walked in & out different bits sparkled. i knew someone who did the same & added in sparkly cut-out silhouettes of eg. seahorses & aquatic shapes. in ours, we varnished first so if we changed mind about the glitter later we could sand it off no problemo. buit we kept it because it was ace! easy to mop up bath overflow slops as well. We have got the quickstep Lagune shipdeck in grey teak. It looks amazing, can't stop looking at it!

I have bamboo in my bathrooms, hall, kitchen, dining room and utility room.
Its nearly 5 years old and I love it.
Should probably be nicer to it about polishing etc
but hey! it a floor and its lovely.

FloralPuddles · 11/05/2013 22:01

That quickstep flooring looks gorgeous! Can I ask theonlyoneiknow, what colours are your walls/tiles/overall? Sorry to be nosey and for hijacking this thread it's just that we are picking up the keys soon to our new home and it's a complete doer-upper!

Theonlyoneiknow · 11/05/2013 23:24

Walls are dulux bathroom atmosphere which is a pale blue and the sanitaryware is white. The splashback is going to be a single sheet of white glass (not on yet) I can send you à pic if you want?

Theonlyoneiknow · 11/05/2013 23:25

Theonlyoneiknow · 11/05/2013 23:26

FloralPuddles · 12/05/2013 05:57

Thank you so much Theonlyoneiknow! I would love a picture, that would be so kind, it all sounds gorgeous! I have only just come out from the lurking closet (we exchanged on Thursday, I was scared to jinx it all by postung before lol ) so I may be a bit slow in finding any messages lol. Do I need to send my email address?

So sorry op for hijacking.

Merguez · 12/05/2013 16:04

No worries FloralPuddles. I agree that teak looks really nice, but maybe a bit posh for a boys' bathroom.

It wasn't too expensive, half the price of aquastep which is what I also looked at. Shopped around though and got it from green apple flooring
