lets talk dulux..whats in your room

Hi I am new to mumsnet! I thought I would post here first as I am having a spring clean and revamp around my home at the moment, I am repainting but finding it so hard choosing what clothes to go for.
I am painting:
kitchen
bathroom
hall ways
living room

I decided to go with dulux and bought a few testers the only one i liked out the 6 was almost oyster but still unsure, has anyone got almost oyster in there home?

I'd like to know which colours you went for i really dont know what I want so need inspiration :)

forgot to mention i have a small house, so brighter the better :D

in my current house i have perfectly taupe as it goes with everything. my sister chose it as she has an amazing eye for colour.
my new house is being posted white throughout until i move in and make some decisions. image trying really hard not to paint it all perfectly taupe again though

Just googled perfectly taupe and it does look lovely! is it a bright colour? i have such a small house i need it to be on the bright side. Your in my boots, having to make lots of decisions! :)

We have:

Mineral mist (in DS2's room)
Willow tree (in DS1's room)
Dale white (in the hall and back reception room)
Dusted moss 3 (in the kitchen and spare room/study)
Sky blue (in the front reception room: note this does not removed resemble anything you'd imagine as 'sky blue'; it's actually teal)
And some kind of yellow (possibly pale citrus) in our bedroom.

We got everything in diamond matt, which has been brilliant for scrubbing off sticky handprints etc.

I have subtle ivory 2 in my kitchen. Recommend the kitchen paint from Dulux.

I have Egyptian Cotton in Endurance in the hall.

Laura Ashley paint in the living room so can't help there.

Note: dale white looks more blue than green in our house. Very, very pale. The PILs love it so much they're painting their living room the same colour.

Oooo! We have mineral mist in the downstairs loo Arbitraryusername. It looks very nice and goes well with glass accessories.

It goes delightfully with, erm, Lego and Star Wars junk in DS2's room too. So versatile!

In a similar vein the 'timeless' in DD's room goes marvellously with various items of multicoloured plastic!

I was going to ask what type of paint to go for as my little one has destroyed our current walls, we wiped crayon off the wall and the paint came off with it? v strange!

Egyptian cotton in most of our rooms. Just a very neutral, light colour, so I can have fun with curtains, light fittings, cushions and rugs instead.

I am after anything that will make my house bigger, its such a tiny house I just want lovey bright rooms :)

Can anyone show me what Egyptian cotton looks like in there home? im new so dont know if you can attach pics, im thinking it may be a little too grey?

Or a pic of any room colour for that matter :)

I've muddy puddle in the kitchen.

African ginger in the small and poky utility room.

Egyptian cotton in the living room.

A chocolate colour in the hallway and a purpley one on our bedroom.

I have Putting green in my living room (my favourite), bit brighter than it looks there, almost a sage green. Very relaxing.
Wilkos Tropics in the kitchen- looks fab with black tiles and multicoloured accessories.
Blue reflection in my toilet, and very similar in my bathroom.
Jewel in the crown paint in my front hallway- this paint has the most gorgeous texture on the walls, looks really good.

As you can tell, I'm currently in a green phase. I have my living room contrasted with pure white and pink, looks fab if I say so myself!

If you go to a dulux decorating centre, you can get anything mixed up in trade diamond matt. Then you should be able to scrub stuff off the walls and leave the paint there (FIL scrubbed plaster off the top of paint in our house with no ill effects). It's similar to the endurance stuff you can buy in B&Q but they mix it up in any colour you like. It looks like normal matt paint on the walls.

Do not, under any circumstances, buy the dulux light and space paint (no matter how much it promises to brighten up small/dark spaces). The coverage is unbelievably dreadful. 5 coats on our hallway and it still looked like a patchy first coat. It also has a weird sparkly thing going on that will bring out any imperfections in your walls, no matter how much filling you do. ICI gave us vouchers to get something else, so we got the dale white in diamond matt instead. It makes the hall look much bigger and brighter, and the walls look flat.

Timeless in a good offwhite, no yellow in it, but not pink either.
We have just painted kitchen Jasmine White which is of course got a smidgen of yellow in it, but just looks like a very "clean" offwhite. We have it with cream cupboards in a east facing room.
Nutmeg white was horrid! Pinky brown and dusty looking. We had to repaint a wall which was done in it.

Another colour which has worked in our house was DH (Dulux Heritage range) Pearl. A sort of very light green in our west bathroom. Very Edwardian.

Oh yes and builder recommended Endurance, so we've used that in kitchen for scrubbability/scuffability.

Just been to b&q they have a 3 for 2 offer atm, got 3 testers and loads of strip colour sheets with all your recommendations.

The 3 testers i got:
Jasmine white
Almond White
Egyptian cotton

was so close to getting timeless!!

I've used "Nude Glow" as the main cream throughout my house.

duck egg for kitchen i like but other half doesn't?

We have Putting Green in the living room (just by the fireplace), Willow Tree in the play room, and Timeless in the kitchen and dining room.

I love Timeless, it is a perfect off-white.
