recommendation of surveyors and solicitors in Leicester area

Hi, we are buying our first house in Market Harborough and were wondering if anyone can recommend good surveyors and solicitors in this area. Help much appreciated.

Hiya, we live in Leicestershire and used NBM Law in Ashby. That is an hour away from you but realistically you never need to go to the solicitor as it is all done by post/email.

NBM Law were by far the cheapest but they are no thrills.
I used to deal with a solicitor in Harrow called Blatchfords. They were amazing but they are triple the price!

Oh and when I was an estate agent, we used to deal with Landmark surveyors. I think they operate all over the country. I can't really recall any other company.

The closest branch to Market Harborough is NBM Eason. There seems to be quite a few branches across Leicestershire/UK. Do you know if they work independently? Just thinking one might have higher quality than the other? Do you think having one closed by would be an advantage coz you can probably hand it the documents,etc?

NBM Eason is who we used. They're in ashby I believe. We never went to the solicitor once. Actually, I think a family member did for us to hand in the contract as they were passing! But it could have been posted.

They have an online portal in which you can keep up to date on whats going in which I think is good. And you can post messages to your solicitor on there. They just don't ring you with information without you chasing them but I guess that's the same as most solicitors. They can't speak to all their customers all the time!
We went with them because they were considerably cheaper than others. At the end of it we still completed so had the same outcome as any other solicitor!
