Help needed :)

I'm writing the spec for my builder for my new extension.

To access our new bedroom you will need to go up about 2 or 3 steps. Do you think it would be better to have:

a) A door in the hall (making the hall slightly less long (which is possibly a good thing, our house is long and narrow)), you would then enter the bedroom where there would be a door on either side with loft access for storage, then the stairs, then the rest of the bedroom.

b) The doors to the storage and the steps in the hall and then a door at the top of the stairs to access the bedroom.

Thank you! I can't decide, it's so hard designing this off plan.

Marginally I think (b). If I was viewing a house and walked into a bedroom I think it would be nice to view whole room at once, rather than having visual interference from some steps and a random door first IYSWIM. And storage is better accessed from a communal space.

b!

Great, my gut feeling was b, but the architect drew a.
