Curtains from Next - any good?

Just that really. Has anyone had any, what do you think of the quality for price.

I have a couple of pairs but have had them for years and will only buy them in the sale. They are good quality though but they may have changed. Have you tried Dunelm Mill?

I can only comment on the children's range, they're ok. The material is nice but not especially thick, even their heavier black out lined range. I bought a set of blackout liners and I sew them on the curtains when they arrive I stitch them together. Makes for a much nicer, thicker curtain that hangs better and makes the room much darker.

I'm in New Zealand, Dunelm Mill don't ship here unfortunately as they have some lovely stuff. The readymade range here is pretty limited and custom made is ridiculously expensive.

Thanks for the tip re blackouts Benedict. I do like some of their curtains - might be worth a try!

I brought a pair of curtains from Next a couple of months ago, I had been struggling to find a cream pair of blackout curtains for my daughters room, I had previously brought my son a chocolate brown pair of blackout curtains from Dunelm which are great, but unfortunately they only did them in natural which was more of a beige colour, so ended up buying a made to measure velvet pair with white blackout lining. I must admit they were very expensive but am really pleased with them. If you go down the made to measure road, make sure you get a sample of fabric before you order, as once they are made you can't send them back unless they are faulty.

I find Next curtains just so-so. John Lewis ready-made are far superior although dearer. I have just put a gorgeous New England type set of curtains in my GSs bedroom - wide width, around 90 cm drop with blackout linings already in £75.

I agree if you can afford it, and they deliver, John Lewis is far better quality.

I have curtains from both Next and John Lewis and can honestly say that the Next pair are no worse in terms of quality.

I like the ones I have from Next - miles better than the Cath Kidston ££££ ones for DDs room!

thet are very variable IME.

I have had two fantastic pairs for the DC with heavy linings that were fantastic value for money.
But the ones I got for the spare room are really flimsy and i wish I'd sent them staight back.

I would only recommend them but only if you're happy to send back if they are a bit crap. And read the reviews carefully.
