Window safety bars

Does anyone have any experience of putting, nice, non-jailhouse looking safety bars on windows? We are replacing windows and have low window sils, and kids without much sense that would likely fall our of the first floor so some kind of bars or restraint is def needed, but I'm not sure what do go for or what is available.
The house is an old farm cottage with lots of wood inside and the windows are going to be cottage style casement things.

Thank you for any help,

you could get a restrictor to prevent the window opening more than a few inches. like

Any windows that do not need to be opened could have small metal keylocks fitted, preferably one near the top and one near the bottom. It is convenient to conceal the key on a cuphook at the top of the windowframe, out of sight behind the curtain.

p.s.

if you are having new windows fitted, and they have the sort of hinge that lets you clean the outside of the glass from the inside, the window supplier can probably provide them with a restrictor built in. The release in concealed, but can be operated with a strong adult thumb.

Thank you! I will ask about the restrictor.
