and it looks fab! I posted my quote on here a while back and most people said it sounded a good one. Work is now complete and am extremely happy, he even steam cleaned the drive when he was done.

Thinking of getting one installed too! Grin do you mind asking me what kind of surround or mantle (If any at all) you went for? Really undecided here what will suit my 1930s house...

ItsAll, he offered and it seemed rude to say no!

We have a slate tile hearth, quite a large opening so logs can go either side of burner and oak beam above which is about three inches shy of being total width of chimney breast. It is varnished wood so quite rustic I suppose.

We also have a 1930s house and when he took off the 80s monstrosity of a fireplace and knocked through the original fireplace was arched.
