Best white for a basement

I put this in home decor but thought I might get more response here

We have a basement that is going to be a utility and playroom in our new house, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas from the sea of white shades available, please?

It is quite a large room, reasonable (for a basement) ceiling heights but has only one window so doesn't get a lot of natural light and has lots of LED spotlights instead.
Down one wall there is going to be map wallpaper. There are wooden work tops and white cupboards at the utility end. The shelving is all white eggshell.

Any ideas..? Thanks!

Basic trade white? Or Crown tough white. Not pure brilliant...just white. Easy to touch up, no colour matching required if it gets a bit grubby? (Helpful?). Prob not...just my whole house done in white to avoid the very which one to choose problem Grin

basements are often a bit damp

Masonry paint is very durable, and in the standard colours need not be expensive.

Thanks - is masonry paint harder to apply than standard emulsion?

It might be a bit thicker, but is water-based so much the same.

Apply one or two coats thinned with water if bare brick or plaster to seal the surface.

I bow to pigletjohn's expertise on all matters property but if you decide to go with regular paint, I've just done my darkish basement in dulux light and space 'morning light' and very happy with it.

I'm only thinking of extra durability and resistance because some basements can be a bit damp.

Masonry paint is good in a garage too, as they are often rather dirty and it can by washed down or even hosed (but not on a wall that is shared with a room of the house).
