Well it was a new build 20 years ago! . Anyway so our central heats up our house lovely apart from our north facing front room so on a night we are generally chilly in there. Thiking about a woodburning stove.... Currently we have one of those inset pretend open gas fires in a nice marbley elgin and hall modern surround - no chimney ! It goes as would the stove to an external wall as detached so kow we would need a flue going up the external wall. What do we need to knwo and do you think it would work in a modern ish set up, do they take up a lot of room or wold it sit on the existing fireplace? Im a bit green on this at the moment and DH is more excitabel - i need convincing.
