It's been remodelled from a 1970s house..... Do you think it works??

Very bland was my first thought.
Overpriced was my second.
Sorry.

I think they've done a fantastic job externally - if it was a typical 1970s estate house- but internally both the layout and decor is disappointing: it looks as if a developer has spent minimum money and imagination on it. The description is very Hyacinth Bucket "this select cul-de-sac" Hmm.

Flossiechops · 13/04/2013 11:49

Too big, not homely and would cost a fortune to heat.

Badvoc · 13/04/2013 12:39

It does seem rather...barn like.
But without the charm.

Lot of money for effectively Slough haven't looked on street view but if all the other houses on the "exclusive cul de sac" are still unremodelled 70's houses then it is potentially a bad buy - there has not been 400k spent on it. Search a few miles away - Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, Chalfont St Giles, Jordans, Seer Green much nicer and more upmarket area £1.2m would be a wise investment. Better schools (private and state) and better transport J2 M40 & M25 and 22 mins train to Marylebone on the civilised Chiltern line

Very bland and character less. And being in an 'exlcusive cul de sac' would put me right off. For that money I would want something far more interesting and certainly not located in a 70s cul de sac

deliakate · 13/04/2013 15:51

I am disappointed. Our search area had been Beaconsfield/amersham/chilterns. But all searches seem to be blank for that price as I am trying not to go for too much older properties. Although there seem to be a few in Gerrards Cross just on - what is GC like though? We have passed through it (on foot) and didn't get a community feeling at all.....

Like the house from the rear and not the front. The windows are too fussy and I would prefer plain less exciting windows. The porch on the front is truly awful, the tiles in the conservatory I'd have to redo. Great wooden floors though but sadly very unattractive internal doors and an OK kitchen. Has the feel of a 90's house inside and has obviously been done with someone without too much vision.
