Cleaning plaster drips off wallpaper..

Help! We've just had our ceilings skimmed and the plasterer has left plaster drips/splashes on the walls. In most of the rooms this isn't an issue as we're intending to redecorate, but in DS's room the wallpaper is in good condition and I'd hoped to get away with not having to do anything to it. I really don't want to have to strip/repaper the room and it's a shiny textured wallpaper so I assume it won't take paint well. Any tips/tricks for cleaning the dried plaster off the walls? Or do I have to bite the bullet and redo the paper? [sob]

if it is a vinyl wall covering, try a soft wet sponge. Plaster does not stand up to water well.

Thanks PigletJohn, much appreciated. I don't know if it's vinyl or not, any easy way to tell?

I had the same trouble and used a baby wipe successfully!
