thinking about moving to Fleet - any residents with the inside track?

We are thinking of picking up and moving from SW London down to Fleet in Hampshire to be nearer dh's work and to give our dd a chance to grow up in semi-countryside. Does anyone live there or have you previously lived there and what do you think? A good move? It's quite a way from family and friends who live in London and Suffolk so is a bit daunting.

I live near by. Good schools, but make sure you are in right catchment. Town s a bit down at the moment, but has everything you need, waitrose, pizza xpress but lots of charity shops too. Property represents good value for money. Lots of things going on for kids. Good links into London. Nice villages around it which you could consider if budget remit.

Thanks, that's good to know. Funny about charity shops isn't it. They seem to breed in some areas!
