Moving to Guildford - Advice Needed!!

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are currently house hunting in the Guildford area. We are first time buyers.

Does anyone know what the area immediately to the south of Slyfield Industrial Estate is like? We have been to look at a few houses on Whitemore Road and Woodlands Road. Does anyone know what these roads are like?

They seem fairly nice to us, but we don't know the area very well and are worried about how close they are to Bellfields. Would they be classed as Bellfields? We are looking for a nice quite, family area.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

No worries, just thought you might find someone useful there! :)

Borderline. Get house and car insurance quotes based on exact postcodes. What's your budget and what are you looking for?

I used to live in Whitemore Road until 1998 anyway so don't have very current knowledge. I always thought it was classed as Slyfield? The houses are good old fashioned inter war houses. It's not the poshest part of Guildford by a long chalk but we never had any problems there. The one issue in the road was tight parking, particularly as a couple of our neighbours had adult kids with their own cars and not enough off road parking. Didn't have children at the time so can't comment on schools etc but the children in the road used to scoot up and down quite safely. The A3 is quite close so it's not the quietest location, but the prices reflect this.
