I need to do a bathroom, a toilet + sink and a wetroom...
Has anyone used the ikea cabinet for bathroom? Im thinking of this But i do think it is a bit expensive, or am i wrong?

What about bath? acryilic? steel? im thinking of going for acrylic, ive heard that perspex (something) is better as the color doesnt fade. The only thing that is holding me is what about the chemicals it is made of? will they dissolve in hot water? also which brands can you recommend (mid-price) oh and what about the "weight" of it so it doesnt sound too cheap/plasticky.

many thanks

Hi, just done ours and hope this helps I was amazed about how many taps etc there were in the world when i started Grin I bought most stuff on ebay and gots lots of advice from friends who'd done it this is what I would advise;

bath- If you are going too be standing in it then steel is best bet- I got this one and fitter thought was good..
www.bathroomtrade.co.uk/steel-baths.html?hfm_source=AdWords&hfm_medium=PPC&hfm_term=steel%20bath&hfm_content=19808166984&hfm_campaign=AdGroup&hfm_network=Search&hfm_site=&gclid=CJ3j3LfY-bUCFZDKtAodSg0A7Q

taps- get decent taps it is worth the money - names to look for grohe/hansgrohe then bristan
if you have kids a thermostatic bath tap is good as can run at temperature and wont get too hot-

shower screens are a pig to clean, get a decent curtain rail - you can always chuck shower curtains if/when they get manky

I got a unit like that and its great, thats not a bad price really but I didn't want drawers..

thats got square edges you may then use that for your design eg squarish taps rather than curves - pick a plan and stick to it..

for more storage we got a bath panel with doors in, and a cheap mirror cabinet above the loo from b and q but a more expensive one from tesco - with light over..

cheap toilet from screwfix
expensive cabinet (well for me it was £300 but included sink- builders merchant haggled a bit on price)

got large brick tiles from b and q and laid horizontaly

picked a farrow and ball colour then had it made up in Dulux bathroom local dealers..
v mixed reports on bathstore stuff

sorry for the essay Blush hope it helps..

Just done one - tiles from wallsandfloors - excellent Laura Ashley tiles at a great price, Showerdoctor - cheapest showers, great service, radiator from Bathempire, Cabinet with basin from Bathstore - very good, about £200 in gloss white. Be careful if you don't see the product in real life as some of the built in basins are really shallow so pretty useless if it's your main basin. Ours is fine but we nearly bought one which wasn't!

I'll never use Victoriaplumb again - the products were fine but the delivery failed to arrive and their customer service response was shite (common problem according to their reviews on Trustpilot).

Probably wish I bought a better basin tap - I fear I went for style over quality so I might upgrade it sometime in the future but it's fine for now.
