F&B Parma Grey/Blackened/Skylight, Little Greene Bone China Blues

Hoping to finally decorate our bedroom this year. It is north facing but gets lots of light. I have thought and thought about colours, waved zillions of paint charts but keep coming back to blue, but only just blue if you see what I mean. I want a greyey blue really, I like the look of F&B Parma Grey but worried it's too dark, so wondered about F&B Skylight or Blackened, I've also got a Little Greene chart and like the Bone China Blues which are very very similar to these.

Anybody got these colours? What are they like 'on'? The room is about 4x4 which might sound tiny to you lot but it's the biggest room in my house and the window is huge. If it helps the fitted wardrobes take up a lot of the room, they are going to be white/off white, which I'll choose once I've got a colour. Brass bedhead, off white curtains, bedding subject to change!

ps I like F&B Light Blue but it looks a bit green.

I am not set on F&B/LG, i'd be very pleased to use something cheaper!

we tried all of these for our large sunny living room and ended up with a colour from wickes! It was one of their chalky Matt paint. can't remember which, but their range is quite small.

We used F&B Parma Blue in our N-facing, dark kitchen (and the tiny, even darker loo next door to it) about twelve years ago and people coming to the house still admire the colour now - someone did last night! It really works well.

Ahem, I meant Parma Grey, of course...

Not recommending a colour but if you like F&B paint colours take the chart to a dulux scanning centre and they can scan it and provide you with dulux trade paint in the equivalent colour. Have done this a number of times and can't tell the difference. Their trade paint is far better than their more basic paint they sell in DIY shops

Thanks! I might get a sample of Parma Grey and try it, then if I like it see if I can have it matched - I think there's a Johnstones about ten minutes walk from us so that would be excellent.

Just done a couple of image searches and am also liking Lamp Room Gray and Skylight so that might be three samples!

I've just used Stolen Linght and Blackened in two largish bathrooms. I wanted a pale greyish tone but lots of light.
I am bloody delighted.
Both absolutely gorgeous.
So calming and restful. I keep going in to look around.

Oooh. I think I might order a couple of sample pots for the weekend then. I'm excited now!

That's what I did.
I liked the look of Parma Grey but it came out to dark and I have had my fingers burnt to many times with paints that are darker on the wall than they look on a smaple chart.
Cabbage White seemed quite promising but Borrowed Light just a little more colour.

I'm obsessed now. I dreamt about paint last night!

Tell us what you decide on after messing about with your samples.

I love Light Blue, have it in the bathroom and considering it for our bedroom. It's not blue, or grey, or green, but an undefinable mix of all three

DS's room is Borrowed Light, a definite pale blue (nice though!)

I got tester pots for Borrowed Light, Skylight and Parma Grey. Parma Grey was FAR too dark, so much darker than it looks on the charts etc. I'm going for Borrowed Light which is a greeney tinged pale blue. I guess it's on the way to duck egg sort of colour.

I've got Parma grey/ gray and blackened in a couple of rooms.

Blackened is quite light. I love both but particularly Parma.

Lulworth blue is a warmer, lovely soft blue and worth a look too?

I'm leaning towards Lamp Room Gray now! Trip to Homebase this weekend :)

I've redesigned my whole house now, just need to win lotto to pay for it...

I tried a Skylight tester recently for our kitchen. It's really lovely - a pale grey/blue, and it doesn't look cold. In the end I didn't use it as we have a grey tiled floor and I didn't want the room to look too grey. I'm tempted to use it somewhere else though as it's such a lovely colour.

I've decided the room needs plastering first :( next year maybe! Going to do front room instead, considering Dimity with something exciting on the chimney!

But bedroom will probably be Blue Gray I think!

Try little greens pearl with an off white. So lovely!

I have a sample of that in my basket!

Borrowed light (FB) is just lovely, used in my 3 storey hall and staircase and it worked brilliantly in the very dark downstairs hall and the lovely and bright landing.
