Any suggestions anyone? and are the oil refineries a problem there? Where do I need to avoid? I think the children are going to go to a Steiner school there but other suggestions would be good too.TIA

Thought it might be Smile
People travel for miles to get their kids there, i have friends in St Dogmaels (lovely big village just outside Cardigan) who drive there every day.

So, i would avoid villages along the A478 (including Clynderwen) apart from Narbeth which is a fantastic place. Maenoclohog is nice, Newport (by the sea) is great but very expensive property wise, anywhere along the Gwaun valley is beautiful..
I would avoid the immediate Fishguard area, or south of (and including) Haverfordwest.

I could go on.. if you find something feel free to PM me and i'll tell you what i know Smile

The Steiner School is quite difficult to get to so you would need to think carefully about where you are living so that the school run doesn't become a nightmare.

Mainstream schooling in Pembs has had a real slating recently but there are lots of great schools - PM me if you want. I should state that I am a teacher so probably biased!

Lots of lovely places to live in Pembs - it really depends on your budget.
Newport is lovely, as is Narberth. Brynberian and the surrounding area are lovely, Fishguard itself isn't but there are lots of great places to live nearby - Lower Town is really nice as is Strumble Head.

If you wanted to be very near to The Steiner School Llangolman is OK or Mynachlogddu

ANother thing to consider is how remote you want to be - do you want to live in a town/village/middle of nowhere

As for the refinaries you don't really notice them when you live here
