would you choose smaller house in weybridge or larger one in cheaper neighbouring towns?

this is the dilemma...should you go with location first or house?? the one we are considering is big enough, has the space we need - although does have a small garden and would require a kitchen knock through at some stage... but it beautifully located for weybridge, schools, trains.. plus ideally (if all goes to plan, which of course it might not) we would hope to move again so this wouldn't be the 'dream family forever home'... but when you look at what else you can get for the money there are some much bigger houses with everything we want now, plus the garden...but school catchments might not be perfect... what would you do??

I don't know Weybridge or its surrounds but would always go for location over a particular house. Knowing that you will get your children into a decent school is worth sacrificing an awfully large amount of garden in my experience.

Wevbridge is a very nice area, if you were to cast your net a bit wider wjere would you think of looking.

I live in a nice area and blooming well pay for it - but have not regretted it.

Weybridge! Definitely location over size of house. I am from there and will eventually move back there in the future and would not even consider addlestone or walton as they aren't nearly do nice in my opinion that is (!) and schools variable.

weybridge is lovely - but do you know what the traffic is like in the four daily rush hours?

Yfronts · 04/03/2013 19:53

location first

FamiliesShareGerms · 04/03/2013 19:57

Weybridge, definitely

Weybridge a bit overrated IMHO but it depends on what the "other" towns are
