We currently have these voile blinds at our bedroom windows;

They were there when we moved in. It's an old property with gigantic windows. The current blinds are good in that nobody can see in, but you can still see out. However, they are useless at night with the light on. I'm getting sick of having to try and get changed in the dark so I need to sort out something a bit more private.
DH wants to keep the current blinds but add soemthing over them. The obvious solution would be curtains, but there's not very much space between the 2 windows meaning that 4 curtains would not fit. We would have to have 3 curtains which I think would look a bit crap. There's also not very much room either side of the windows due to our furniture, so we woudl either have to have 3 really narrow curtains made, or have them bunched up loads.
On the blinds 2 go site it suggests that you can have roman blinds over the voiles ones. I can't find any pictures online to show how this would look, but in my head it sounds like it would look terrible? Has anybody got this and does it look ok?
I think we should just scrap the voile blinds and get venetian blinds but DH thinks that they won't stop heat loss and so doesn't want them.
Any suggestions anyone??
