I live in a small 3 bedrooms house and want to get the whole house rewired. Has anyone had this done? Would u mind telling me how much it cost?

We had our 2 (double) bed terrace done in 2007. It was £3k.

Thank you for replying. I've saved about £900, looks like I've got a way to go Hmm

I recently asked a couple of electricians the same (but haven't had them visit for a proper quote, I just know them through work). 3 bed with 2 receptions and kitchen would be approx £2k.

Piglet John would say that rewiring a house costs about the same as a second-hand car - so a few thousand rather than a few hundred.

Hi we had our large 2 bed semi rewired 3 weeks ago in the northeast and it was £2500 incl vat. We only had a basic rewire though as we want to sell, extra sockets/finishes/lights etc would have upped the cost to more like £3k but would be worth it if you were staying long term I think. We could have probably paid a bit less by getting lots of quotes but I knew the electrician and the quality of the work so thought the price reasonable.

I'm having a 4 bed house rewired and my quote comes in at £6.5k!! I'm based in Surrey.

We have a quote for between £2k and £3k, but a friend is going to do it for us. He said under no circumstances should a small 3 bed house cost more than £2k (we are in Scotland though so might be more down south).

Get a few quotes.

Regulations in England and Wales are not the same as in Scotland, I don't know how much that might affect the price or the qualifications of the person required.

I've recently had some other electrical work done and the electrician said I'd be looking at 3.5 k to 4 k for a basic rewire of what's already here and new fuse board.

Ours is a 4 bed semi in Surrey. We do have lots of sockets though eg, 7 doubles in sitting room alone.
