Skylight into the loft is making the house cold!

Our loft is partially boarded but the rest is insulated properly, however there is a skylight in the hall ceiling (letting light from the velux window in the roof through)

It's above the stairs so all the heat from downstairs goes right up the stairs and out the roof!

Anyone know if I could get this thing double glazed to try and retain some warmth? And who the hell does this sort of thing - skylight companies? Double glazing companies? Because it's 'internal', could it be done with a secondary glazing sort of thingy?

Thoughts and musings, especially if anyone else has had this problem!

TIA

Any local glazing company will be able to give you a quote.

If its a velux you can buy a conversion kit and double glazed unit and do it yourself - cost around £300. That's what we did to upgrade ours.

We bought the supplies here: velux stuff
