rubbish paint quality

I've decorated my houses for years, I've got good brushes, know how to prepare walls and surfaces but we have recently embarked on a new decorating escapade and I've been left very disappointed by paint quality.

When I renovated my last house I'd do two coats with brush or roller to get a soid finish. Three coats if painting a light colour over a dark colour. This time (started work in autumn), we cannot get a solid colour. Weve used a standard dulux mixed paint in dc room but after three coats you can still see brush marks in certain lights, we've used dulux heritage in both the reception rooms and again its just not giving a solid colour.

Very very frustrated. Advice welcome. Thank you.
