Quick paint question please

[Southwest]

I want to cover a dark blue wall with a pale colour of paint do any of you have any idea how many layers I should budget for?

It's going to depend entirely on the quality of the paint you use, buying cheapo paint is going to be a false economy.
I went from a disgusting green which was here when i moved in, to a warm yellow in 2 coats.. but i constantly loaded up the roller and used a good paint.

If I'm doing a radical colour change I always start with a coat of good quality white emulsion which generally means I only need two coats of the coloured emulsion.

its a start I was wondering about 6!!
and I suspect the white coat is a good idea

you can buy obliterating paint rather than using ordinary white emulsion.
