Sanding floors - please help

We have just bought a Victorian house which has sanded floors downstairs.

As we had to get rid of the old stained fitted carpet elsewhere we decide to have the stairs and bedroom floors sanded as well.

I have just come in (floor company finished today) and there is a darker patch on the riser of each stair in the centre ( is that normal - will it dry out?).

Also the workmen have broken one of the floor tiles in the bathroom. It is cracked right across and is now only partially stuck down. As it is a large old ceramic tile it looks really awful.

Will the stairs dry OK you wise property people and what shall I do about the tile? Should I tell the floor company?

Yes say something about the tile but if it's a small co they may not be able to afford to replace - could be v awkward.

Stairs might vary due to previous wear and the varnish soakIng in?

Yeah I hate to to complain but they didn't leave a note or anything. Just a broken tile.

Stairs is a weird one because you'd think the wear would be on the treads not the risers and stains are on the middle of each riser like a stair carpet.
