children's book storage ideas?

I posted this in decoration, but then I thought it might be better in here. (Is that allowed??)

DD is 2, she is absolutely, madly in love with books. We have hundreds. I'm running out of storage for them all. I'm wanting to create some storage for them in the playroom, but not sure how to go about it. It would need to be easily accessible to a toddler and easy to tidy the books away. I was thinking of just a low bookcase but worried it might fall on her and also, as many kids' books are a lot wider than adults' books, they might keep falling off and be hard for her to tidy up after herself hopeful

I am currently sporting the mumsnet hairdo and recently averted a major poonami disaster thanks to the envelope vest trick. Mumsnetters always have such good ideas so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a genius solution

Ikea expedit is your friend! Nice and deep for wide format books. I have a 5x5 unit with canvas boxes on the bottom row and books above (then even more of ours above.

In ikea they have white recycling crates which you can screw wheels onto, they would hold a load of books and can be pushed around where child is currently sitting....

If you want more of an interior design look, use an apple crate and screw metal castors onto the bottom to do the same job.... Seen this on Pinterest and it looks great Grin

Try searching 'children's book storage onto the Pinterest website and lots of inventive ideas will come up.

I have shelf units like the Ikea Expedit, mine came from Homebase, I think, or B+Q, or Argos, back in the day.

Or tidy books bookshelf where all the books face forward. You need to screw to a wall though

Ikea spice racks.

Like this

£3 each and much better than the £70 efforts I bought dc1 from the gltc
