I have a nice 3 bed semi which we have been in a couple of years now

Its all modern decor apart from the downstairs toilet/shower which is very tired looking although functional. The shower is rubbish which is what is prompting me to think about a face life also its a bit manky round the edges - think old looking exposed pipework etc.

Can I ask if people think its worth investing in refitting it in terms of adding value or whether it would be just for my own pleasure !

Also any suggestions on getting a good local tradesman ? I used Ratedpeople recently and wasnt overly impressed

This is a shower room freshen up not a major refurb so I really don't think you need to worry too much about re-couping the cost of it on any future sale of the property!

If the rest of the house is in good condition a shabby shower room may stand out more to potential buyers though.

Also, bear in mind. Whilst the shower may be rubbish, as long as it doesn't look rubbish potential buyers are unlikely to check it out
