Cheap areas near Guildford

Any suggestions? Would like a large house with garden within half-an-hour of Guildford by train (preferably direct). Budget £500k.

I had a look south towards Havant, didn't seem to be any cheaper.

Ash seems to be the cheapest. But maybe there are other areas?

You can get a property for that price in Guildford or surrounding villages, but not necessarily in the best school catchments.

Well if you are paying school fees I would look at North Guildford, Normandy or for trains Ash. Lots of private school paying parents live that way.
