Barnstaple

I am thinking of offering on a property near Barnstaple and wondered if there are many disadvantages to the area, other than it being a bit rural/remote? I am a bit concerned that there won't be many jobs, would this be the case or would I find something if I wasn't too fussy? Any thoughts appreciated! Thanks

where would you be moving from? It's the destination you're leaving that will probably determine how you feel about Barnstaple. Generally the positives are - great outdoor opportunities, very safe. Coming from some other regions of the UK people might find the locals less inviting than elsewhere, and there does tend to be a vein of 'you're an outsider until you've been here 25yrs+'. Jobs wise, that depends on your field, there tend to be lots in healthcare, care-homes, tourist related fields, I don't know about the rest I'm afraid. Good luck whatever you decide.
