Carpet upstairs - what would you do...

Hey

I am looking to get rid of the laminate flooring upstairs as they are always cold, every other day there is dust and I just don't think the bedrooms feel like bedrooms.

I will be replacing with carpet the feet sinking kind! My question is about colours - so one room is currently a dressing room, one a guest room the other the main bedroom. The colour theme for the dressing room is purple, the main bedroom is teal and the guest room is bland magnolia.

Is it best to get carpet in the rooms all the same colour or would it be ok to have different colours in each room?

same colour, saves you money, too.

I'd always go for the same colour. As lljkk says, it will be cheaper but will also make the rooms appear to flow better and look bigger. Easier if you change colour schemes later too.

Same, but the stair and landing carpet will need to be better quality and more hardwearing as it gets more traffic.

Thanks all :) helps make my mind up - I will go with one colour in all the bedrooms and use paint to bring in the different themes
