Replacing a loo - help required

About to have our bathroom done and want to change an old loo for this one.

Our plumber says he's not sure it's suitable as the waste will have to make a left turn before connecting to the soil pipe which run internally up the wall next to the loo. I can't see the problem - is he being lazy or is he right? I know I can't have one with a solid back but this looks ok to me.

If he's right can someone point me in the direction of a more suitable but stylish loo?

I think you've just described the relative positions of our bathroom loo and soil pipe, and we've got a very ordinary close coupled loo in there.

It's difficult to see from the photo but there may not be enough space behind the toilet to fit a right angle bend.

Lazy if the soil pipe id that close to the toilet anything is possible!

Just went upstairs to look. Bathroom was fitted in autumn, loo looks very like the one you linked. We have about four inches boxed in behind the loo, which might create the space for the 90 degree bend, I guess?

We did ask the plumber if we could do away with the boxing in, but he thought it would create the need for a flexible pipe, which we didn't fancy much....

It is very short and although the dimensioned drawing is not very clear I think there is not enough room.

The description specifies that it is designed to exit through the wall.

Ask the plumber to help you choose a different one.

Bugger split opinion - perhaps I better choose another loo and/or another plumber (he is being very hands off except for saying the first one probably won't work). This one looks the same inc tech drawing but says it can take a 90 degree turn into the soil pipe. What do you think? I'm

Forgot to say I realise that there will have to be boxing in anyway as the soil pipe runs up the wall at the side of the loo (about a foot or less away from the loo).

on that one the soil pipe at the back is not so shrouded, and they mention that you can put an elbow on it.

You can box in a soil pipe, but I hate to see a WC that has to be set out from the wall and the resultant gap covered up. It is not unusual but looks awful and can generally be avoided my more sensible choice of WC.
