Questionname · 27/01/2013 12:57

So I can't afford to buy a property
I have however seen several I could split then if I sold one I could afford the other

Can anyone point me in the direction of any info about this specifically tax planning and lease stuff

Tia

And yes this is London and reflects the shitty state of the property market and the nuts prices you get as a result of low interest rates and easy borrowing and yes this is my attempt to get a roof over the head of my young children without the mould expense crappy landlords shitty properties and expense of renting!!!!!!

Do you mean splitting a house into flats?

If you are talking about splitting a property in London know that as with everything else the competition is fierce. Many property developers (professional and amateur) troll the market looking for any property that could be split into flats; bedrooms added, etc as that is were the profit is.

Are you buying with someone you know? Otherwise how will you afford purchase price & costs of splitting the property?

No not done it
Main issue is getting planning permission - some councils are trying to reduce the number of houses split into flats now
