New internal doors in a modern house. Which style?

We are in the midst of remodelling our house. The house was originally a post WW2 bungalow that has had significant extensions and as a result lacks any original features or character.

I am trying to choose new internal doors that will add interest but aren't trying to be a pastiche of a bygone era that the house has no connection to. The doors currently in the skip are like this: panelleddoors so please dont suggest these!

We will probably opt for an oak finish. Does anyone have any ideas of what is modern but understated? Are these nice? shaker

I have been having to make so many decisions recently that I have no idea what I like anymore.

I've just put those shaker doors but in white into my late 50s house, and they look really good I think. I'd have preferred five panels but couldn't find them anywhere.

That's encouraging. I really liked them about 6 months ago and now I am just confused.

ooh lurking, I can't help but I need new interior doors in our new house. It's from 1960 and has completely bland, featureless doors that I suppose would be fine but feel very much like they should be in an office. I'm okay with them upstairs for now but the two which lead to the downstairs hallway need to go. I was hoping to find at least one with windows, if anyone even does those anymore. It'd be good to get a bit of light around.

I like the shaker door.

The shaker doors can come glazed. We will go for a combination of glazed and unglazed depending on where we new extra light (at the end of a corridor) or privacy (the loo)

Although I linked to Howdens the shaker style are pretty generic. Lots on eBay to look at if you like wasting your time on the Internet like I do.

I think they'd look great in white. I think the oak finish ones will date pretty quickly. But that might be just me.

Interesting. I'm not really thinking of white at the moment...will ponder this one
