Hi,

We are getting so fed up in trying to choose a kitchen table so wondered if anyone out there could help. Please see the photo on my profile of our new kitchen, we moved in 2 weeks ago.

The floor is grey tile, work surfaces brown earth stone, units off white with faint wood grain. Hob and extractor fan black glass.

Now the question is do we go glass, if so clear or black or wood ? We are worried the wood wouldn't be modern enough but glass to stark. We have been looking at extendable tables as normally it will just be the 3 of us want want the option of 6+. Then the question is what chairs? Arghhhhh

There is a snug area off the kitchen which has chocolate walls and a brown leather sofa.

Any advice or thoughts would help massively. Thank you

We had dark grey, almost black floor tiles put down in our kitchen a few years ago. At that time we had a small round pine style table which now looked awful. We went for a round glass table with see through clear gel chairs, all from John Lewis.
I think a clear glass table goes with anything. Yes it has got some scratches on it (mainly from DS2 doing his home work on it and dragging ring files across it. But it's a working table, it still looks great after a wipe with dettox and a piece of kitchen roll (I never use the washing up cloth and the washing up water from the bowl as this just leaves smears - the dettox doesn't).
We have cream kitchen units with pewter handles and a black granite work top.
Have never used any type of cloth oil or otherwise on it

Go loopy and get a pool table/dining table combo www.libertygames.co.uk/store/pool_tables/dining_top_pool_tables/vogue/ or www.mercuryleisure.co.uk/snooker.html

No idea if suit - but just heard a friend had one and thought was very cool!

Scratches on glass was my main concern. We liked the frost range in John lewis but DFS has an extendable glass table which is also a possibility.

I was thinking wood may soften the look but as you say bearcat it may just look odd
