So,

We have a design for our new kitchen that I finally like! Pics are in my profile, I'd love you to have a nosey and give your feedback.

Changes I've already asked for: not a fan of the curved cupboards around the sink and we're going to have a 'normal' chimney extractor, not the weird one in the picture.

As said before - cupboards are going to be F&B Pigeon, floor porcelain tiles (colour TBC) and worktop either dark wood or a quartz, depending on how much money we have.

No, I can't see it either (and I love to nose round other people's kitchens).

I'm in . My thoughts are:

I like the cupboard style. I don't like curved cupboards either but can't really see them in the design on your profile but, yes, good idea to get rid if they are there. I like the colours you suggest.

I don't like the gap above the fridge (or the fact that it stands proud of the other cupboards.

I don't like that the range cooker is in a corner, I feel it should be where I think the sink is (the pictures are very small so it's a bit hard to tell).

The sink should be on the other run of cupboards under the (internal?) window.

I don't understand why the wall cupboards stop over the sink.

Looking again, presumably you are going to have a dining table in the centre of the room. Will that not block the line from the fridge to the sink/cooker? I'd try to avoid that, if so.

Second everything lalalonglegs has said....although love curved units.

Love the tall built in cupboards but the fridge looks plonked there so detracts from beauty a tad. Will it be flush with them in real life? Maybe a shelf or cupboard above?

Range cooker shouldnt be so close to corner.

Maybe a wine rack above the fridge. Or at least some doors. Not sure what I'll keep in there though, but I'm sure I'll find something!

Good point re dining room table. Maybe if I swap fridge/larder cupboards around the access will be easier as we can keep the dining room table down towards the french doors. Can't move tall cupboard closest to the doors unfortunately as it will have boiler in it.

Just back from school run. Yes, I can see the range isn't quite in the corner in that picture but, imo, it still should be more central. I think a table is always going to obstruct your moving from one side of the room to another, I don't think moving it 30 or 40cm to the right will make that much difference. If it were my kitchen. I would move the sink under the "window", move the range along its current run of units and have the fridge at the end of that run, next to the wall with the french doors. It will make the kitchen a much more useable and logical layout and you can have a full run of tall cabinets on the other side of the room which will look more elegant.

Never understand why people have a lovely fitted kitchen and stick a massive ugly fridge in the middle of a run of units

I've had porcelain tiles before - anything you drop on the floor smashes to a million pieces. Wouldn't do it again.

I think the cooker placement is fine, leaves a good space between cooker and sink.
If plumbing permits and spacing the sink could look nice on the wall looking into the living room then you could central your cooker if wanted.
Curved unit to top right of the sink looks lost.
If removed could run some 575 or 360 high to the wall.
would look nicer with a canopy or even better with a nice visual hood.
fridge side with a nice scalloped wine rack or doors with aventos lift up above the fridge
The boiler unit larder use a 1245 door as the top door to line up with the larders either side of the fridge so not so bitty with doors.
the open dresser is nice.

I'd have a built in fridge.

In your design this would mean you could have a full height freezer alongside a full height fridge. With the fridge being the first unit next to the dresser units. Moves the fridge that little bit more to the right which means table less likely to be an issue.

I have just finished my kitchen so here are few tips.

1. Check that you don't hit your head on the extractor fan that you eventually buy. I had to have mine raised, it was touch and go whether I had sufficient head clearance.

1. Where are you going to put all your recycling bins. I had a space for my main bin but now its a bit annoying that I have to go into the garage to empty all the other bins.

1. Check that cupboards are big enough so that you can stack your largest baking tray. Mine all have to lie flat which makes it a bit difficult to get at.

1. How are you going to heat your floor tiles?

1. I am really happy with my integrated appliances. (I prefer this to one that is one show)

1. If you can move your sink so it overlooks the garden (not if that is possible from your pictures. I wouldn't want to stare at a wall to do the washing up.

1. Have a practice 'prentend' cooking a meal. Is there a drawer to put your knives etc near where you would do the preparation. Is it close to where the dishwasher is.

You are at risk of your line of wall cupboards looking very higgeldy piggeldy - wall cupboard, extractor, double cupboard, gap/above the sink, wall cupboard. It will be very messy on the eye.

I agree with a lot of what lala said.

I used extra tall larder cupboards either side of my fridge so that I could put a bridging unit above it (cannot reach to get anything in the sodding cupboard - but keeps DH's crashhat out of the the way).

And YYY to practising cooking. "make" a cheese sauce...you are at the hob and need extra milk...how easy is it to get...."make" a stir fry...you need soy sauce...where is it. I spent a lot of time on this and glad I did.

And what placement wise pisses you off in your current kitchen? Where our coffee machine was used to drive us mad - so I made sure (and now have) a wonderful tea/coffee area. Cups and tea/coffee in the wall cupboard above the machine. Fridge half a step away, bin half a step away...tis luffly.
