DIY courses - London

Hey all

I am plannign to do a far aware of work to my house, fitting hanging rails, pictures, installing new radiators and moving one of them, new bathroom suite and tiles, repainting walls, changing taps etc.

I know how to do little things like sealing a bath and have repainted a few walls in my time but I want to become more confident in doing these things and doing them properly - my dad never let me use the drill and as silly as it sounds I don't feel too confident to even drill a hole in the wall - not even sure when I need wall plugs, which type, how to know which drill bit to use etc. I have looked up on the internet but still not entirely convinced I will do it right.

I found this course which to me seems fairly priced for what it covers: thebtc.co.uk/brochure/home-maintenance-courses/

I want to become more confident in doing these things so I don't always have to pay for someone to do it particularly.

Has anyone been on anything like this or know of any other courses in London?

Thanks Smile

Mumsnet Academy appear to be running one in Isleworth. I'm considering doing a similar course so I'll report back if I hear of any others. The amount I've paid to handymen over the years could have funded the course several times over!
