We have lived in our house for 11 years. DH and I agree it is not our forever house. I am not 100% happy with the house/location and can not wait to move. DH has said we can't move until our youngest finishes school. That is 11 years away!! This house is the longest I have ever lived anywhere (only 3 moves were my choice) and I don't want to live here for another 11 years. I want our forever house to be the longest lived place. The issue is we are in Kent and DH wants the Grammar school education for all our children. (One already there, 2 at private school atm.)

How can I make it work here - or persuade DH that moving sooner is an option?

There is so many nice properties in Kent! We saw loads when house hunting.

We didn't ever buy a house there in the end. Out of interest why are you so keen to get out of Kent?

Some parts of Surrey have grammar schools.

DH was the same and wanted to stay with Grammar school education for DD.

We did move though - from Kent to Lincolnshire. May be a bit extreme but at least we stayed within the Grammar School system. Good job Dd then passed her 11+ Smile

I would like to move up North but that won't happen.

I just want somewhere to feel like home and Kent isn't it.
