Floor for new bedroom?

We've just finished loft conversion - DS2 has a new bedroom - Yay!

But it has no flooring.

DS want's something washable in case he spills things, but I don't know where to start!

At the moment the only thing I can think of is a beige carpet.

We have a white wash effect bevelled plank laminate floor in our loft rooms (in all the bedrooms infact) :)

Rubber? Vinyl tiles like Harvey Maria in funky colours?

we've just had a new sort of laminate put down - not wood but still.goes down in plank style strips. gorgeous and wipeable -ours is walnut. very rich where we have it but maybe could get dark in a loft...

White wash effect sounds good. I want to keep it light - have painted the whole room white.
