Bathroom ideas

Our ensuite needs redoing. It is a good size for an ensuite, so we are not too restricted about what to put in it in space terms. The placing of the window and a stupid 6 inch cut out shape next to the window are a little restrictive. We would like quite a modern, easy to clean and easy to repair bathroom with good ventilation (clearly driven by the problems we have at the moment and have had in previous bathrooms). I have no idea where to get ideas from. Any thoughts?

We're doing our main bathroom in 2013 and went to a couple of showrooms today to get inspiration. I have spent the evening looking stuff up having been suitably inspired. We will get some people in to design as well and see what they come up with and because we'd like someone to do it all for us (nt being DIY minded at all.

Since yours is governed by the restrictions you mentioned, it might be worth getting someone in to give you a design.

Having said that, I am struggling to be excited by toilets. They're all ugly!

We want to get ours done, do you just get one person to sort it all out or source and coordinate the various trades?

Seriously think about flooring much earlier than you may think is necessary. Several times I have been faced with the done the suite, done the wall tiles, done the paint colour...oh....now what floor and been flummoxed by the unsuitable choice for what I had designed.

We sourced most of our bathroom items from City plumbing. There are quite a number of branches, some with showrooms. We had a really helpful member of staff to advise us on the different products. A lot of trade plumbers use this outlet too.

We used them too - I found what i wanted (like twyford taps model no xyz, bath style abc) and then found the best internet price I could. Then City Plumbing matched the price on all but one thing. Worth doing the research.

I just had my bathroom re-done and used www.tubsandloos.com/ they had a showroom which i thought was the best option to use. Often going round and looking at baths and toilets it all starts to become a blur but they were helpful! It's good to get some different opinions on what can be done and prices before jumping into it! Hope this helps

I just had a quote for our family bathroom. It is average size and the suite quoted for is bog-standard (excuse the pun). The quote for all the work comes in at over £10K. I think they are having a laugh - please tell me that this is a ridiculous quote.
