Rangemaster v Stoves

We are considering a range dual fuel oven. After a lot of browsing it seems these two brands come highly recommended.
As this will be an oven we intend to keep forever (as much as we can!), does anyone know if its worth paying extra for the Rangemasters?

Am dribbling over range ovens myself - I'm looking at induction hob and double electric oven...

same question, am waiting with baited breath.

Rangemaster is part of the AGA group so chances are if your looking to keep it longer it might be worth the few extra £100's

We own a duel fuel rangemaster, it's completely fantastic. Easily the best cooker ive owned or used.
We decided what we wanted then looked for a second hand one, we saved about £600.

We are very excited about the prospect of a new oven. We were considering an eye level, built in double Neff oven with a separate hob, but realised it would cost about the same as a decent range. And if we move we can take the range with us

Now it is a long time ago but in 2000 we moved house and my colleagues mother moved house. We both bought Stoves cookers. They were both crap. We found the thermostats seemed not to function and they burned everything. Both were two different styles of cooker as well, so not just a problem with one particular model. We both vowed never to buy Stoves again.
We both changed to different cookers and have never had trouble since.
If I got my dream cooker it would be a Rangemaster Excel which has two big ovens and a dedicated slow cook oven. Or the equivalent in Aga.

I have had my range master for 10 years now and I love it. I have had a few small problems, the fan motor went and a grill element, but parts were easy to get off the Internet and my dad fitted them (he's not an electrician but knows a but about most DIY stuff). I need a new door seal but that's my fault as I got oven cleaner on it and it affected the bond to the door but I can get one easily enough. You can also get spare knobs etch which is useful as they get see. Mine is all electric as we have no gas here and I would prefer a gas job, however I love it and would get another with no hesitation.

Stoves have a reputation based on being a great brand in the past. However they were taken over and are no longer made to the same build quality I.e. horrible flimsy controls and so on. For a similar price, Rangemasters are much superior IMO. Everyone I know who has one loves theirs!

We have Rangemaster Professional Plus with 2 electric fans ovens, grill and induction hob.

It's really fantastic.

It was expensive though. £1730 for range and £300 for hood.

I have a duel fuel Stoves range cooker that I love! It is the best thing I have ever owned, very solid feel to it and no problems at all.

Rangemaster looking best option then. Best prise up another floorboard!

Just been to have a look at a Rangemaster, bit concerned about the width of the tall, narrow oven. We have a few baking tins/sheets that I assumed would go in lengthways but now I'm not so sure. Sadly, they didn't have a Stoves one to compare. Ooh decisions decisions!!

Is it a 90cm space? Because I think that the width of the oven will be the same no matter what brand.

Yes, 90cm. Wondered about that, but would like to have a play with a Stoves before we decide.

Aga have a sale on at the moment, so probably will also cover rangemasters, as they are part of the same group...

The stoves ones have a larger right hand oven than range master - you do have to see them tho! Mums range master burns everything if left for correct time, but don't know anyone with a stoves

Last year we moved into a house with a Rangemaster 90. It has a gas hob with 5 burners and two electric fan ovens, with a grill as well.

We hate it.

But the reason we hate it are a) it seems to be set on a slight slope, so all the fat in the pans move to one side and b) it cooks things too quickly and a year later we are still getting caught out and burning the food and c) if you are using the grill then you can't open the main oven door without closing the grill, since the handle gets in the way. Oh and also d) it needs cleaning still .

I think c) is common in this style of oven, so probably no different between the makes, and a) b) and d) are not really to do with the oven itself. So I guess what I'm saying is to ignore me! I do like the fact that the second oven is a proper fan oven, and I do like the hob as well. It came in very handy this Xmas when we were cooking 7 pans/pots of veg as well as the turkey.....

The only other thing that I just thought of is that the pull out shelves were shite. The gaps between the metal prongs were too big and all the pizzas went droopy and hung down at the edges! We got around that by buying new generic width-adjustable shelves which are now fine. We also got 3 of them instead of the original 2 which is much better. (Can cook 3 pizzas at once now!)

I have had a Rangemaster 110 all gas cooker for the past 16 years and am now going to replace it with similar. Am not convinced about dual fuel! Need help! Will definitely have a gas hob but am tempted to have all gas again. Can anyone help as from past experience am not good with electric ovens. Have narrowed it down to Stoves Richmond or the Rangemaster Professional plus. Would really appreciate some advice please.
