I am considering moving to Liverpool, need to visit after Christmas. Please can you tell me good/bad points, which areas are best , transport , things to do, infact all info gratefully received. My daughter has just gone to Uni so just me and partner to please. Am looking for large Victorian/ edwardian properties but in decent, safe area. Also want to know what job situation is like could possibly transfer with current employer but ideally would like to start afresh . Thanks

I too am considering moving to Liverpool, can anyone give me a run down on L14 please?
I have only had a quick look in that area, I have two young children and need a decent area for them.

L14 - I would say it's mixed, but some decent enough areas, I'd be inclined to stick to Old Swan/Broad Green end rather than Huyton end. For schools I would try and be in Liverpool rather than Knowsley Might be worth you comparing with cheaper end of L18 and L16 as well.

Back to the OP - re:jobs, you might be better off living somewhere between Liverpool and Manchester to add to your options for job hunting.

Thank you for that, Thingwall Lane area is where the house is, I am even unsure if that is Huyton or Broad Green end?

I am ok with regard to work as I already work in Cheshire

yes, it's quite pleasant round there, might be worth checking on a map exactly where the Liverpool/Knowsley border falls, thinking ahead to high schools etc.
