So, renovating. I mean, back to the brick in several rooms (kitchen, utility and bathroom), nre radiators, total redecorate everywhere, new flooring everywhere... (not to mention a plethora of repairs and rewiring that happened too).
The house is a good 20 min drive from where I currently live, and I don't drive. Plus a have a n unruly lively toddler and a 7 month baby (let's not go there with the bickering teen/almost adult). Everything I've picked I've done through best judgement and ordered online. Turned out ok, for the most part... despite me seeing nothing until it was in situ for the most part.
But today the floor finished going down, downstairs. I bought 'walnut stained oak' (real wood, not laminate). And was going to have solid walnut furniture (have already purchased the media unit...).
The floor isn't 'walnut' anything. From the pictures (I've not seen it in the flesh, as it were) it's far too red. DF confirms it looks pretty red irl too.
I'm totally thrown. Really, really do not want to go with a reddish wood like mahogany. What do I do?!
There are two pics on profile first and third (even though I clicked second for it!). The walls are eygptian cotton (trade diamond) which is a beige-y off grey. and woodwork trade white eggshell (although in the conservatory it's jasmine, with gold/off white oriental garden (Laura ashley) wallpaper). The sofas are grey.
Oh egads, what blooming furniture?! Actually, I have a capri console and side table (also laura ashley). I think they should be ok as the legs are a dark wood.
Ideas?
