Is this an expensive quote for floor laying?

Hello fellow property loversssss! I got a quote for the laying of kitchen lino, room is 5.25 x 4m, lino is cheap tat off ebay, cushion backed lino. 100 quid! Is this steep? We do have a couple of recesses, but nonetheless isnt this a bit steep? I only paid 178 for the lino!

That sounds reasonable to me. You have to consider that your workman will likely be charging your for a day's labour. Even if it doesn't take the whole day, he won't then go off to another job for a couple of hours and the job has to be worth his time financially. Obviously you should get a few quotes though to ensure you don't pay over the odds. Or hire a handyman who works hourly - I do this for small jobs.
