Agh, stressing over blinds!

We've got 4 windows in our newly knocked through kitchen diner.

3 windows next to each other on the long part of the 'L' shape. One window at the opposite end.

I love roman blinds, but think they just won't be practical. I like venetians, but again, put off by the cleaning!

Which leaves rollers. Which I think would look OK and most practical solution, providing I find a design that I like.

I've found 3 on John Lewis, which I think would go with our pale grey cuboards / pale blue walls / oak floor / oak laminate ...

So my question is:
Would a bigger design / pattern go better, given there are 3 windows next to each other (I think overall I prefer the first design, but would it end up looking a bit ott, given the design is quite small?)

The Internet colours are quite a different shade to the Internet piccie (first link in particular).

the problem with these is that they will have to be identical to look good. I do not know if John Lewis can manage this.
IMO the middle pattern will be the best because of the vertical pattern.
the problem with the first design is not the size of the pattern but that it will look messy if the blinds are not identical.
Why not Roman blinds?

Roman blinds because they will absorb smells and any condensation and moisture in the air. The window by itself is also behind the sink. We are not the cleanest cooks!
Have considered having different blinds at each end of the kitchen, but would this look a bit odd?

I would use the same blinds, unless you go for a different window treatment entirely. I vote for the middle one as well - just because I like it best.

I do like the second blind and I think a bigger pattern will work better, given the surface coverage.

I'm rubbish at all of this! DH is at his wits end, we had the kitchen fitted in June and still no blinds up!

Are you planning on actually using them? Do you intend to have them down at all? I have 2 big windows in my kitchen diner, one directly behind the sink (although the window recesses are quite deep). We never have them down - we use that room during the day and early evening, we are overlooked to those windows but when we use the kitchen in the evenings, its usually for a limited time (making a coffee, some quick prep from the next day), we don't tend to relax in there so dont feel the need to pull down the blinds. In those circumstances, fine to have romans. dont think they've picked up smells?!

If you're set on rollers, I'd have the 2nd one - lovely and quite muted. I think 3 x number 1 or 3 x number 3 would be too much.

We would put the blinds down in the evening. I hate the fact that at the moment, when we're prepping dinner (about 7pm ish for us, as we still eat after the boys in bed, although no doubt our tea time will get earlier as they get older), we can't see what is outside, but whoever is walking past can see straight in.

I also know we're quite messy cooks, lots of splashes on windows etc, we aren't that careful.

I really love the look of romans, I do think they look better quality than rollers. I think this is why I'm struggling, I want the practicality of rollers, but the 'fabric' look of romans.

The second one is definitely the preferred then (also of the friends / family I've badgered too!).
