If I can't be arsed to prime should I bother undercoating?

I'm doing shelves in alcoves

So far I've primed, under coated and 2 top coated 16 mdf shelves

I'm bored of painting but need to do the supporting battens

I've not got any wood primer, just mdf primer. I have got undercoat, is it worth undercoating or should I just do s couple of coats of eggshell and be done with it?

Better to do the job well than leave it botched

Ugh I feel your pain, sounds like the novelty has really worn off now.

I am no expert but would think the mdf primer would be better than the base coat if you're going to skip one. The primer will stick better to the bare wood than the base coat I think.
