vintage kitchen ideas

Does anyone know of websites where I can find pictures of vintage kitchens?

We have an old property and all the designs look a bit too sleek... I'm thinking something more freestanding might suit, or even one wall floor to ceiling with cupboards and the rest quite open.

Does anyone know where I can look?

Thank you!

Mark wilkinson does alot of the stately homes

www.mwf.com/homepage.html - 30k plus though

Google farmhouse kitchen

Designs will always look a bit to polished on a cad system

Check out this site for gorgeous bespoke kitchens, very pricey but lots of ideas and inspiration. Also Pinterest is a great source of inspiration. This is my board if you're interested.

you should give a local carpenter a ring, it will probably work out better value for money as you can design the kitchen together.

Thanks Allotment, I've spoken to our local joiner but he doesn't make kitchens, he will fit it though.

I'd try another friend who's a cabinet maker but he's running about 5 years behind schedule on his wife's kitchen and I think she might hit the roof if he makes ours first!

Also try handmade kitchens Mine hasn't arrived yet nad you have to arrange own painting and fitting, but they have been the best value for quality.

We will have an L-shape of their units and then an island at a later stage. I may make this using stainless steel and wood as I don't want it to look too 'matching'. I also have a great large pine cupboard that I got at an auction room for £130 which is huge and will make a great larder / china cupboard.

You can have my vintage kitchen if you want...it's roughly the same age as me. V. 80's Grin
