Would you not give the house a bit of a tidy?

Lordy! I looked at a house yesterday that was minging and literally bursting at the seams. All the loo seats were up too (the whole seat, not just the lid - which made me heave). I am on the market and spent over 6 hours preparing for the viewing of my own home yesterday - it actually makes me cross... Grrrr!

We bought a house earlier on this year that was photographed in a similar condition. Upon viewing it, it was much worse. Bad smells, bin bags everywhere, mattresses on the floor, abandoned broken toys. It turned out that the couple selling had split, he had long moved out, she was having some kind of nervous breakdown, and the 4 kids had gone a bit feral. It is something that made me feel very sad for that family.

To be honest, that house has planning - anyone buying it is more than likely to be knocking it about so much it doesn't matter what the house looks like now.

Although, given how nosey I am about houses on sale where I live I might have put a tiny bit of effort in.

I think they could have tidied a little bit even if just for the photos.

I knew it wasn't just me...
It may well have planning, but the state they're advertising in suggests it just might need some drastic essential repairs because it hasn't been looked after.
My house had a picture hung in an odd place when we were viewing so I looked behind it; mould.
My lovely Deco palace will be a marvel when it goes on the market next year. They'll be a queue to envy the next Apple release...

'There'll' - stoopid autocorrect!
