Can anyone recommend some really lovely, luxurious throws?

Hi all

I need to permanently cover our three-seater sofa, which is fine structurally but otherwise scummy. Can anyone recommend a throw that will completely cover it, not fall off, and feels super lovely and luxurious and expensive?

It has to go with a Persian-looking carpet (a bit like this one), so probably dark colours or plain. I am hankering after wool or something fluffy.

All the really nice ones I've seen appear to be a bit small. Help! Grin

I too have scummy couches and would be vvvv interested in any recommendations!

Melin tregwynt do lovely throws/ blankets. I have 1 on my bed is lovely and thick.

I second Melin Tregwnt, they are absolutely gorgeous. I'm a bit precious over mine though so its kept in tip top condition (some of my sofas are pretty manky now with 2 small boys)

Is recovering not an option? I am considering that for my particularly well-worn grubby armchair. I also like Bemz covers if you have an ikea sofa (which I probably would have done with the benefit of hindsight until the children were old enough to look after my furniture better)

That looks interesting, will check it out!

PPP I did look briefly at recovering, but I think it is loads more expensive? You can buy stretchy sofa covers but they look a bit cheap and nasty imho. But am happy to be told otherwise!

I haven't costed out the recovering option yet. Our sofas are really nice classic ones though, underneath all the grot, so I feel like it would be worth it in the long run - I like the shape even though they are uncomfortable as hell.

I'd really like to recover the armchair in the Melin Tregwynt mondo spot fabric as I lurve it so much, but I think that would be £££.

Agree that stretch covers do look and feel naff, but I have a Bemz cover on an Ikea chair in another room and it looks fab and they have a massive range of fabrics.

I think I would be too scared to sit on a sofa covered inMelin Tregwynt! Might get an ottoman though.
