I am thinking about it for my porch....
If you have it is it hard to keep looking nice? Porch is obviously a high traffic area. I have a massive rug in the living room which as a few pulls but still looks fab IMO.

Had. Awful, absolutely awful. Looked spectacular first year, horrid after 3 years. It does hide dirt brilliantly but it was unforgiving with spills. Even spilling tap water would stain it - googling it, was advised to use hair dyer to dry it quickly to prevent that. Had to also find specialist company to dry clean it for our buyer before we moved out as steam cleaning would ruin it.

We have it in our cabin in the garden. As TW says it is great for hiding dirt (no sign of muddy bonfire parties!) but I'm not sure how it would stand up to heavy traffic. Ours has been down 5 years and still looks great but only gets occasional use.

Ditto TWVirgin - terrible stuff in high traffic areas. Never again!

I have had sisal in a bedroom - worked well there. I also had it in a sitting room where it showed every mark and had to be replaced when the Christmas tree leaked on it and everyone thought it was the dog that had caused the stain.
Seagrass on the other hand is wonderful and survives anything that you throw on it, scrubs up wonderfully and lasts for ages.

I was going to suggest seagrass as an alternative too....
