Hello, this is my first post so fingers crossed I'm doing everything right! My husband is currently working in Liverpool and we have decided to relocate to Chester. I have visited Chester twice and loved it, both times we have stayed in the city centre. We have two children aged 4yrs and 18mths. I would like some advice on the nice areas to live in or around Chester. schools are important, it would be nice to be in walking distance of a good school. Thank you!

Hi - I grew up in CHester, years and years ago, and loved it, we lived in Upton not far from the zoo and I went to Mill View and would have gone to Upton High School (?)_ I'm sure others will tell you what these schools are like now and areas to consider, Im way out of date now. However, we were consider relocating there about 10 years ago ( and ended up on the other side of Cheshire near Macclesfield, lovely area). - We often went to Chester shopping and socialising, and really loved it, you have the best of all worlds, a great shopping centre and near to North Wales for outside stuff, - schools mentioned then were Christleton area schools, so not sure if that is still 'current' - check OFSTED reports for local schools etc for latest info, and hopefully other locals will tell you latest news on them. Good luck, it s a great city, lots to do.

Tarvin and Tarporley are both gorgeous villages just outside of Chester - Tarvin Primary has a fantastic reputation too.
